Peter Thomas Scolari (September 12, 1955 – October 22, 2021) was an American actor, who is well known for his roles very famous characters and roles such as Henry Desmond in Bosom Buddies and Michael Harris the hyperactive, scheming producer of Dick Loudin on Newhart a role he played from 1984 to 1990.

Peter Scolari’s Career
Peter’s Played his first role as the Juggling neighbor of the title character in the 1980’s sitcom Goodtime Girls. He was then co-cast with Actor Tom Hanks, as two young creative professionals who disguise themselves as women to get an affordable apartment in a women-only building in another sitcom Bosom Buddies. Peter joined the cast of Newhart, opposite Bob Newhart, in 1984, where he played the character of Michael Harris, the yuppie local TV producer, until the series’ conclusion in 1990.
Scolari won Emmy Award in 2016 for Playing the Father of Lena Dunham’s character in the HBO Series Girls. He also portrayed Gotham City’s corrupt police commissioner, Gillian B. Loeb, in Fox’s superhero crime drama Gotham.
