You never know what truth bomb might be in store for you after two weeks, as the writers are always preparing to tease the fandom in new and exciting ways. You can never tell when the tide will turn on any particular character with a show like this because you never know when they will turn. Because of this, the writers have made the decision to release certain information about Will (Noah Schnapp) and Bob (Sean Astin) from season two.

Some fans have grown accustomed to disliking the practice of killing off new characters with each new episode while the already established characters party terribly in their ominous setting, Hawkings. In season 2 it was Bob; in season 3 it was Billy (Dacre Montgomery); and in Season 4 it was Eddie, our most cherished character (Joseph Quinn).

Meanwhile, while we await the announcement of Stranger Things season 5, which has also been confirmed as the show’s final season, the show’s writers tweeted a message that caused quite a stir. The tweet, which appears to be the first in a series to come, is captioned “Crazy shit that almost happened.” Will and Bob Newby are the subjects of the first disclosure of its kind.

Sean Astin, who played Samwise in the first three installments of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, landed the role and immediately became a household name in the fantasy television realm.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that with a program like the Duffer Brothers’, it’s impossible to just have an idea and implement it. Before completing the transaction with the final blow, you must go through a mental checklist of the steps required. The Stranger Writers have now explained that Bob’s death was almost planned in a different way, something other than the nasty Demodogs, and it was an obsessive will. This was revealed in the latest episode of the show. If something like this had happened, it would have had a significant negative impact on Joyce Byers’ (Winona Ryder) mental health, but fortunately that wasn’t the case.

However, this makes a lot of sense since Season 2 was very difficult for Will’s character, especially because he was possessed by the Mind Flayer and he is still connected to him, as was also confirmed in the Season 4 finale. That makes a lot of sense because Season 2 was extremely difficult for Will’s character. Will’s violent behavior had progressed to the point where he harbored ill will toward some of his closest associates. If we had killed Bob he would have been traumatized for the rest of his life as if he wasn’t already.

However, should this actually have happened, the Byers family would have had to reckon with the harsh consequences of the crime in the following. Will’s character arc would have been completely different if he had been the one responsible for Bob’s death; this was to have a significant influence on her later life. Having his mind controlled would have been the main focus of the plot, so we would have seen a lot more of him. Fans have been vocal in their dissatisfaction with the absence of Will in each new season, which is particularly disappointing given the stellar job Noah Schapp does in portraying the character. It’s possible this would have fixed the issue, but in the end it would have also changed the dynamic they all share with each other.
