Mariah Carey performs at Macy’s Parade – and the internet reaction is hilarious
The self-proclaimed “Queen of Christmas” Mariah Carey performed at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, and her performance on the internet caused an uproar.
Donning a chunky pink umbrella dress, Mariah sang her iconic tune “All I Want for Christmas” surrounded by dancers.
As usual, Mariah stood still during her performance and did not join the dance.
Sports journalist Ian Hest wrote: “Mariah Carey is now getting millions for just standing there with her umbrella and honestly I’m not mad. Crazy respect.

Many made fun of Mariah for lip-syncing her performance, but her fans pointed out John Legend’s tweet as of 2018 in repulse.
“Funny fact. In this parade, we all need to lip-sync because platforms can’t handle the sound demands of a live performance. Hope you enjoyed it anyway. Just know that if you come to my concerts, the vocals are 100% Live!” he said at the time after taking the heat for the same.
“There’s no way a single artist won’t perform live in this parade, and yet people are mad at Mariah for it. Everything’s all right???” another Twitter user he said in her defense.
