Mama June apologizes to Honey Boo Boo on her birthday: “I’m not perfect”


June Shannon’s mom sent Alana’s daughter “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson an apology on her 17th birthday.

“Hope you have a good day,” 43-year-old Mama June: Road to Redemption star wrote via text, according to TMZ.

“I am very proud [you] with everything… high school graduation that [is] a big deal. I know I put it on [you] for many and sorry.

Shannon went on to say that she is “here now” when her daughter needs her.

“I know I’m by no means perfect, but I’m doing my best,” she wrote. “I know there is a LOT to overwork and overwork, but I’m sure there is [we] will be.”

The reality show star completed the message by sending the teen her “love.”

Thompson seemed to react by double-tapping the text and “giving it a heartbeat.”

Shannon said Tuesday that a high school student thanked her mother in her response, adding that she loves her too.

Graduates of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” have had a strained relationship since Shannon’s arrest in 2019, and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon officially received custody of Thompson in April.

“I see her, I talk to her,” June’s mom said of the new deal. “We communicate. So there was no difference.

“The only difference is that he doesn’t sit here next to me in my house every day,” she explained then.

Living apart, Mama June spoke loudly about Thompson’s decisions – from her impending weight loss surgery to her relationship with 21-year-old Dralin Carswell.

“I’d say she has to wait until she turns 18,” Mama June said TMZ the last month of her daughter walking under the knife.

As for her affair, she does accepted into Entertainment Tonight in May that although he approves of Carswell, he “has to keep his job a little longer.”
