Kevin Holland: who is he? A look inside the UFC player’s parents, wife Charlese Holland and siblings

Kevin Holland, an American who practices mixed martial arts, fights at the UFC welterweight division. Kevin has been fighting for his job since 2015. Since then he has fought for Bellator MMA, King of the Cage and Legacy Fighting Alliance.

Holland’s professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career began in 2015 after winning 5-0 in amateur bouts. He competed in events like Legacy Fighting Championship, Xtreme Knockout and others.

Since the UFC star’s personal and family life isn’t as well known as his work life, we wanted to know more about it for this article.

Holland fought Thiago Santos on August 4, 2018 at UFC 227, which was his first fight in the UFC. His next match was on November 24, 2018 against John Phillips. In the third round he was able to end the fight by putting his opponent to sleep with a rear naked choke.

Who is Kevin Holland?

Kevin is the only non-UFC fighter in his family. Holland was mainly raised by his grandparents when he was young because his parents spent most of their time in prison.

Holland attended high school in Los Osos and college in Chaffey. He started learning martial arts at 16 and looked up to Georges St-Pierre. Holland became a professional MMA fighter in 2015. He had a perfect record of 5-0 in amateur fights. In Season 9 of Dana White’s Contender series, Holland was one of the contestants. He fought Will Santiago on June 12, 2018 and won by unanimous decision. Holland was brought in to fight Thiago Santos at UFC 227, although he wasn’t immediately signed after the win. On August 4, 2018, Holland made his UFC debut against Thiago Santos at UFC 227. He lost because everyone was against him.

He fought John Phillips on November 24, 2018 at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Ngannou 2. He won the match by pinning Phillips in a rear naked choke in the third round.

Holland and Gerald Meerschaert fought at UFC on ESPN 2 on March 30, 2019. He won the match in a tiebreak.

At UFC Fight Night 154 on June 22, 2019, Holland fought Alessio Di Chirico. He won the match unanimously on points.

Holland was scheduled to fight Antônio Arroyo at UFC Fight Night: Bachowicz vs. Jacaré on November 16, 2019. However, in late September, promotion officials switched Holland’s opponent to Brendan Allen for UFC on ESPN 6 on October 18, 2019. He lost by submission in round two

Holland and Jack Marshman were scheduled to fight at UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Edwards on March 21, 2020. However, Dana White, the president of the UFC, said on April 9 that this event had been postponed. Holland fought Anthony Hernandez on May 16, 2020 at UFC on ESPN: Overeem vs. Harris. He defeated Hernandez with a technical knockout in the first round.

Holland was scheduled to fight Daniel Rodriguez on May 30, 2020 at UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Burns. But on May 26, Holland was injured and had to pull out of his fight with Rodriguez. He was replaced by Gabriel Green, a newcomer to promotion.

Holland was scheduled to face Trevin Giles on August 1, 2020 at UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Shahbazyan. But Trevin Giles passed out just before he was about to leave, so the match was abandoned.

Holland fought Joaquin Buckley on August 8, 2020 at UFC Fight Night 174. He won by technical knockout in the third round. He received the Performance of the Night trophy for this win.

At UFC Fight Night 181 on October 31, 2020, Holland was scheduled to fight Makhmud Muradov in place of the injured Krzysztof Jotko. But Muradov had to abandon the fight after testing positive for COVID-19 and Charlie Ontiveros, new to the promotion, took his place. After a punch injured his neck, Ontiveros gave up verbally in the first round and ceded the fight to Holland.

Holland was due to fight Jack Hermansson at UFC on ESPN 19 on December 5, but Darren Till had to pull out due to injury. On November 28, it was announced that Holland was kicked out of the fight because she had tested positive for COVID-19.

The fight between Ronaldo Souza and Holland took place on December 12, 2020 at UFC 256. Holland won by knocking out their opponent in the first round. This made him the UFC fighter with the most wins in a single year.

At UFC on ESPN 21 on March 20, 2021, Holland fought Derek Brunson. He lost because everyone was against him.

Holland set the record for the shortest time between main events with their second main event in three weeks. Holland fought Marvin Vettori in place of an injured Darren Till at UFC on ABC 2 on April 10, 2021. Although Holland occasionally injured Vettori with punches, Vettori won most of the fight on the ground and Holland lost by unanimous decision. Later, when he still had one fight left on his old contract, Holland signed a new contract for more fights.

At UFC Fight Night 193[53] On October 2, 2021, Holland fought Kyle Daukaus. In the first round of the fight, Holland was briefly knocked out by a head-to-head collision. Although Holland kept fighting, he was quickly knocked out with a rear-naked choke. Referee Dan Miragliotta rewatched the video after reviewing it and ruled that the head-on collision started the chain of events that led to Daukaus’ victory. Since the headshot was unintentional, the fight was declared a “no contest”.

Holland and Daukaus were scheduled to fight again at UFC Fight Night 197 on November 13, 2021. But Holland dropped out of the race because of an injury.

Holland fought Alex Oliveira on March 5, 2022 at UFC 272. It was Oliveira’s first welterweight fight since October 2017. He won the fight via a technical knockout in the second round, earning him the trophy for Performance of the Night.

Holland fought Tim Means on June 18, 2022 at UFC on ESPN 37. In the second round, he won by retiring with a D’Arce choke. He received his fifth Performance of the Night award for this win.

Holland will face Daniel Rodriguez on September 10, 2022 at UFC 279.

In October 2021, Holland caught a person allegedly stealing a car in his neighborhood. Holland reportedly went after the man and held him until police arrived.

Holland says he and his training partner put an end to a shooting at a restaurant in Houston, Texas, in March 2022. As the men were inside a restaurant, they heard a shot and saw a man being held down by a passerby with a pistol. Holland said he then put the shooter in a rear naked choke to prevent him from moving.

Holland said he helped get a driver out of an overturned trailer truck in May 2022. Holland had seen the driver accelerate and then lose control as he got onto the freeway, went down the hill and overturned. Holland got out of his car to get the man out of the car, who was spitting out liquid that Holland believed could cause an explosion.

Charlese Holland is Kevin Holland’s wife

Based on his Instagram name, it doesn’t appear that Charlese Holland and Kevin are parents, nor has Kevin posted anything about Charlese Holland on Instagram.
