Ivanka Trump announced this week that she would not join her father Donald Trump in making a third bid for the White House – ruling out her return to the political arena.

A month later, Trump, 41, suffered another blow when her husband underwent a second thyroid operation. Kushner, also 41, wrote in his book “Breaking History: A White House Memoir” that he secretly underwent a similar surgery for thyroid cancer in 2019 while a senior adviser to Donald Trump in the White House.

Ivana’s death made her daughter realize how precious life is, a close friend admitted this week, telling The Post: “I think losing a parent definitely leads to a real awakening, which means different things to different people. For Ivanka, it underlined how fleeting time is.”

“But with all the sadness that came from that time, the constant refrain in every story she heard about her mother … was that she really lived: at work, personally and professionally; (and like Ivanka) also left everything on the field. Didn’t look forward to having fun later! She was definitely one of a kind and was a true force of nature.”

Speaking of Kushner, a friend said, “Good health is something Ivanka really prayed for. Jared’s first health scare was at the White House, and then there was the second scare.

The decision to leave the political fight was one of the decisions Trump and Kushner made shortly after leaving office in early 2021.

Speaking to a number of close family confidants this week, another Trump insider told The Post: “Going into government changed the trajectory of their lives, but never expected go into politics.” And they’re unlikely to come back.

“Ivanka and Jared… they were really specific that they wouldn’t be back. They feel it was an amazing, extraordinary chapter in their lives – but their departure wasn’t for one thing.”
